What’s new this year?

Firstly, we’ve neatly covered the bottom of the device to provide extra protection and we’ve made sure to leave the charging port and the speakers uncovered to allow easy access for the charging cable and an unrestricted listening experience.
Secondly, the cases now come with a raised bezel around the rear camera to protect the protruding lenses against scratches from abrasive surfaces.

Improved & brand new Touchscreen Gloves

Last year, we released our very well-received Stretch Knit Touchscreen Gloves. This year, listening to our customer feedback, we’ve improved the touchscreen responsiveness on larger screens and lined the entire inside with an extra layer to improve insulation. As if that wasn’t enough, we’re also expanding the line-up with a brand new, completely reengineered version able to withstand much colder temperatures.

So, the technical stuff…

As a new feature, the entire inside is lined with an extra layer of Polar fleece that greatly improves overall insulation and makes them soft, warm and comfortable to wear.
The smooth outer surface is durable and resists wind. The triple-layered top is laminated with 3M™ Thinsulate™ in a ‘sandwich’ construction for excellent insulation.
Listening to our customer feedback, we’ve reengineered the thumb construction to make them fully conductive and optimised for responsiveness on larger screens. Plus, the thumbs now include 3M™ Thinsulate™ to (again) improve overall insulation.
Don’t worry, we’ve kept those standout features that made these gloves what they are today. Stretch knit fleece fabric stretches in all directions for a comfortable pre-curved fit and the stretchable cuff seals snugly around the wrist.
Those super-sleek silicone grip lines are still there, meaning your phone is safe and sound in sleet or snow.

All new Double-Insulated Touchscreen Gloves

So, the technical stuff…

First off, the outer shell has been upgraded to an ultra-durable, and wind-resistant, heavier Micro Pique.

Two extra layers of insulation were added to create the unique double-insulated triple-layer construction:

We’ve lined the inside of the entire gloves with an extra layer of wind-resistant double-bonded Micro Fleece. The extra layer of insulation greatly improves wind resistance and doubles up as a soft and comfortable lining against the hand.
In between, the lining is entirely laminated with an extra layer of 3M™ Thinsulate™ creating an enhanced double-insulated triple-layer ‘sandwich’ construction that makes the gloves soft, comfortable to wear and even warmer in cold climates.

They say lightning can’t strike twice, but turns out that it can. We pioneered the world’s first 5-finger touchscreen-enabled glove years ago, and we’ve given it a complete upgrade, maintaining the gloves’ conductive properties while drastically refining the design.

We’re based in the Netherlands, and that means two things: 1) the weather is awful at the minute; 2) we bike around. And when you cycle in the freezing cold, your hands basically get frostbite. So, what better time than now to revise our beloved touchscreen glove?

First off, we’ve engineered a durable triple-layer top, laminated with 3M™ Thinsulate™ in a ‘sandwich’ construction for excellent insulation, which makes these gloves perfectly wind-resistant.
The stretch-knit fleece fabric stretches 4 ways for a comfortable pre-curved fit that immediately tailors to the shape of your hand. The stretch cuff seals snugly around the wrist, and keeps out the cold air.
As well as being sturdy and durable on the outside, the gloves are lined with a soft layer of integrated fleece that makes them soft, warm and comfortable on the inside.
We’ve perfectly blended in the tech so that it complements the stealthy look of the glove, the fabric is impregnated with a highly conductive treatment before being weaved into a slim, stretchy profile to fit your hand. The glove mimics the conductive properties of the skin, making it touchscreen compatible. It works all the time, every time. After all, no one wants to take their glove off to scroll through Instagram, we’re better than that.
We’ve also completely rethought the layout of the silicone pattern and made it look much cleaner. Celebrating our 5th anniversary

Celebrating our 5th anniversary, we’ve collaborated to create something truly special: a limited edition Wooden Case for Macbook. We’ve produced a limited run of 50 cases – with 10 representing each year of Mujjo.

To mark this occasion, we’ve collaborated with celebrated industrial designer Athanassios Babalis (co-founder of Shibui.ch), who has – among other achievements – designed the highly impressive Votrys case, for which he won The Dieline Awards in 2010 and then the 2015 CWWWR Awards with the Trove case. After starting his professional career in London, and moving to New York to continue working for companies such as Dakota Jackson Inc, Athanassios now runs a design studio inThessaloniki, Greece.

Mujjo’s limited edition Wooden Case is made by hand in Greece. We used reclaimed American Walnut veneer, taken from the furniture industry. Through a careful hand selection process, layers are stacked and placed in a handmade mould. This goes into a press, where the case comes to life when the layers of veneer are pressed together to form its iconic silhouette.

The case is enclosed with a stainless steel door panel which is secured with a thumbscrew. A simple, yet effective design that is largely responsible for the signature look of the case. Inside, a luxury interior is revealed. Your Macbook touches nothing but the signature full grain vegetable tanned leather in black.

It all comes together in a simple shape, an iconic silhouette with an instantly recognizable look. A unique way to carry your Macbook. Perfect in formal and informal settings. We spent months perfecting our leather. We managed to find ways to make it more durable, denser, and soft to touch. The updated leather feels smooth, with rich colors, and intense tones. We also focused on its character.

The leather wears in with use and acquires beautiful patina and polish over time, as it becomes part of your daily life. The full-grain, vegetable-tanned leather used is manufactured with care, waxed to extend durability, and carefully treated with aniline oil to enrich ‘color tones’.

Due to the nature of full vegetable tanned leathers, it features a very dense and compact structure; a final buff is applied to the already short fibers to ensure a smooth underside with a sophisticated soft touch. The short fibers and dense structure ‘eliminate’ the need for cosmetic additions like lining and painted edges. The quality of the leather enables us to leave it cosmetically untouched while emphasizing the character of the material and staying true to the concept of the collection; nude leather and raw edges emphasize the understated and sleek appearance.

Updated Leather Touchscreen Gloves

We’ve put a lot of effort into improving the manufacturing process of the nanotechnology that enables touchscreen compatibility in our leather gloves. We’re now able to manufacture this nanotechnology for a lower price, which is good news because it allows us to make this year’s version of the successful leather touchscreen gloves a full 30% more affordable! As of today, the gloves are available for €89.95 (in the same price range as our Crochet gloves) compared to last year’s price of €129.95.

Although the biggest changes were made behind the scenes, we did make small yet noticeable improvements to the design as well; the new version of the gloves features a soft cashmere lining. We’ve also enhanced the cut for an even better fit; the wrist is now 5mm longer in order to accommodate the gap between the gloves and shorter jacket sleeves. Our sizes are similar to the industry standard, making it easy to determine your size.

Made out of Ethiopian lambskin leather, nanotechnology integrated into the leather of the gloves mimics the conductive properties of the human skin, making the gloves touchscreen compatible. The nanotechnology functions independently from the human skin, enabling us to fully insulate the gloves with a soft cashmere lining.

New office in former Carl Zeiss Factory

Today we’ve signed a lease for our new headquarters located in the Nedinsco Fabriek, a Dutch monument and former industrial complex in Bauhaus style.

The Bauhaus style, known for its minimalistic character offers a great source of inspiration for the brand. The building is truly photogenic, expect to see interesting elements of the building featured in our product photography.

The German company Carl Zeiss built the Nedinsco Fabriek according the design of architect Hans Schlag, back in 1923. Carl Zeiss used the Dutch based factory to bypass the terms of the Treaty of Versailles that prohibits Germany from producing war equipment. The 36-meter high tower was used to focus optical instruments and also served for the calibration of larger measuring distances.

In the thirties the firm grew into a world-renowned supplier of optical measuring devices such as; submarine periscopes; cameras and signal lights for the global defense market, boosting the local economy. On the other hand Nedinsco has been used by the Germans for military espionage, from 1935. In 1944, a bomb destroyed the factory building, only the tower survived the bombing. After the war Nedinsco Fabriek was seized by the Dutch government and after a period of temporary management sold to G. Beusker, a manufacturer from Arnhem, who built up the factory again.

The factory building came in decline from 2007, the moment it became unoccupied. After more than 10 years of decline the Dutch monument fund, the province and property development firm Woonwenz invested 18 million euros to renovated the carcass back into its historical style, to revive Nedinsco’s old glory as an iconic landmark of world class. Architects Bert Dirrix and Remco Mulder from Architecture firm diederendirrix are responsible for the rezoning and renovation design of Nedinsco Fabriek.

Typical aspects of the architectural style are the minimalistic white walls, clean straight lines (never diagonal) built from concrete and steel. The building is a good example of New Objectivity Architecture; a modern architecture that emerged in Europe, in the 1920s and 30s. Other examples of New Objectivity in the Netherlands are the “Van Nelle Fabrieken” in Rotterdam and the “Witte Dame” from Philips in Eindhoven.

In the world of Apple, where more money buys more pixels, we’re left seriously impressed with the 13″ Macbook Pro with Retina display. You’ll have to compromise on weight if you’re used to the Air, but the truly amazing display definitely makes up for it.

When the 15′ MB Pro Retina launched, lot’s of fans requested a good looking sleeve for it. We decided to run a limited production and became the first to come up with good looking sleeve for the device. It went on to become one of our most popular models.

Today, we’re about to extend the success 15″ Macbook Pro Retina sleeve with the introduction of its little brother, the 13″ Macbook Pro Retina sleeve. The sleeve is based on the praised design characteristic of the collection and features the signature material blend, 100% wool felt and premium leather. It's becoming a tradition to launch our sleeves in sync with Apple keynotes. For the iPad mini sleeve, we tried, but we couldn't make it happen because things have really exploded at the office (at least it feels like it) since the release of the touchscreen gloves collection, exceeding all our expectations.

But as more and more fan requests pilled up for an iPad mini sleeve by Mujjo, we couldn’t make them wait any longer. We had to pull some all nighters to make it happen but we’re able to introduce to you today, as the newest addition to the collection, the iPad mini sleeve.

We managed to improve the fundamental elements of the touchscreen gloves – the insulation, the aesthetics, the anti-pilling properties and the fit. Introducing the A/W 12-13 touchscreen gloves collection, available in black, natural gray, sandstone, lavender and coral pink.

We tested different shapes and sizes on numerous hands to optimize the touchscreen gloves fit. The new higher density texture improves insulation while the glove remains highly stretchable. Thanks to this elasticity, the glove takes the shape of your hand and offers a sleek fit, which guarantees an optimized typing experience. While developing the new texture, we literally spent hour’s texting in an icebox. The result is an optimized balance of insulation, conductivity and elasticity.

Previously only available in black, the A/W 12-13 touch screen gloves collection comes in 4 sophisticated new colors; natural gray, sandstone, lavender and coral pink. We tested miles of yarn to come up with improved anti-pilling properties for the new touchscreen gloves. The improved yarn offers strength while remaining soft and guarantees durability over time.

Mujjo sleeves now available for Samsung’s Galaxy S3

Today Mujjo announced a sleeve line-up specially designed to protect Samsung’s “iPhone-killer” Galaxy S3. Korea electronics giant Samsung launched its new smartphone across Europe last month and is expecting to launch worldwide in July. Mujjo launches the Originals collection for Apple devices

Mujjo, famous for developing last winter’s ‘must-have’ touchscreen gloves, is about to launch its new project: sleeves made from a unique combination of 100% wool felt and high quality leather to protect the iPhone, iPad, Macbook Air and Macbook Pro in a fashionable way.

Next gen touchscreen gloves developed by start-up Mujjo!

Dutch-based Mujjo, an online start-up with a spin on high-tech conductive gloves, allows the wearer to “use all fingertips, knuckles and even the heel or the palm of the hand” even while wearing the gloves to operate a touchscreen device. Touchscreen winter gloves in previous seasons have only allowed the wearer to operate screens with one or two fingers from each hand. The new touchscreen gloves by Mujjo provide the wearer with more options for use since all areas of the glove are usable.

LOOKING AFTER YOUR LEATHER

Each and every hide we use is unique – with its own natural marks and variations in tone. Over time, the leather will take on a warmer, softer look. To keep your leather looking tip-top, you can clean it occasionally with a neutral, natural leather-care cream (like Nikwax® Conditioner for Leather™).

KEEPING YOUR FABRIC FABULOUS

Troubadour fabrics can be kept fresh by wiping them with a clean, slightly damp white cloth. To remove light marks, use a clean white cloth dipped in mild soapy water. Let the fabric dry naturally, away from direct heat or sunlight.

Our fabrics are treated with a Durable Water-Repellent finish (DWR), which keeps the outer fabric from becoming saturated with water. When rain ceases to bead on the fabric, it’s a sign that water repellency is fading and re-proofing is required. To increase the water repellency of your bag, we recommend re-proofing the fabric using Nikwax® Tent & Gear SolarProof®.
